When I finish Season 2, even though I didn't reject the Potions teacher, in the story summary at the end - it still says that I have rejected her. Anyone else have this problem?
ok so I've just started the new update and with so many quests when I try to do them it either says "i have nothing to talk about with that person" or just straight up crashes. Am I doing something wrong or is the game just broken
I still like the game and at times it does capture the same magic the first season had, but the quality of the writing varies wildly between scenes.
Sometimes it consists of heartfelt dialogue and truely believable characters, and sometimes reactions make no sense and the script feels like it was pulled through Google translate. It really feels like there are multiple writers with extremely different skill levels working on the game.
And please get more music tracks, there are multiple instances where the music does not line up at all with what is happening on screen.
I'm not a fan of the writing in season 2. It switched away from MC doing his thing to many of the girls having affairs with Jacob and they only open to MC because he looks like Jacob. Not sure why the change in style and direction, but I'm not interested in it.
[SOLVED] Trouble importing from Season 1 to Season 2.
So I bought Season 1 on Steam and played through and want to import a Steam save to (itch.io purchased) Season 2. I've purchased the itch.io bundle of Season 1 and Season 2.
Steam keeps saying the export is successful ("New notice: success" or something like that) when I run the Export function on the Load screen. But likely because the games are not in the prescribed Steam file structure nothing is imported. At least I'm assuming that's the issue.
So I had the brilliant idea of just installing Season 1 from the itch.io and copying the saves folder from the Steam install into the Season 1 itch.io install. So now both Lust-Academy-0.7.1f-pc and Lust-Academy-2-1.6.1d-pc are in the same parent folder. All the saves appear in the Load screen of the Season 1 itch.io installation when I get to the Load screen of Season 1 to perform the export. THOUGH when I perform the export I get a message that says, "New notice: fail". :[
Ok....so I *think* this worked. My old steam installation was here: /home/UltimaPapazov/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Lust Academy/
I created /home/UltimaPapazov/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Lust Academy 2/ <- just guessed what this folder should be called. Extracted the itch.io Season 2 files to that folder. Ran the Season 1 install via Steam, performed the Load screen export. "New notice: success" Closed out. Opened Season 2 "/home/UltimaPapazov/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Lust\ Academy\ 2/Lust-Academy-2.sh" via command line. New Game -> import was there. :: phew ::
And quite happy to pay for Season 1 twice to support the development.
Some thoughts: The way other visual novels like 'College Bound' handle unsuccessful import is just run the player through all the consequential choices they've made. Ask the player about their choices in a very quick format. And it's even better because if I didn't like my choices my first run through I can change 'em.
OR just provide more information as to what the Export function is doing - I'm sure that "New note: success" was making some file. I could move the file it was generating if I knew where it was. I don't mind jumping through a few hoops and solving a mystery when I have the time...but I paid $10.75 on Steam and then just now $20.60 on itch. Please - next time just tell me what the export is doing.
I, on the other hand am pissed off that I bought Season 2, because it will not work on Android, and the developers obviously have no fucking interest in fixing it!
I read your comment when I left mine above. I thought your comment/assessment might just be overly harsh but this dialogue is atrocious. Definitely not the same writer as Season 1. Also not written by someone with English as their first language. In terms of screenwriting dialogue it's also bad. Your example isn't even the worst one I've read. There's a *lot* of unnatural dialogue in this novel.
I do feel like there are certain scenes and characters that are well written. Which makes me feel even worse when I get confronted again with the large part of the script that is so incredibly sub par and non sensical.
Teacher: Oh this druid has a lot of history with the academy, it will be almost impossible to convince her!
MC just walks into her house and almost demands she helps without even knowing what is going on with her.
Druid: Why should I help you when you are being so rude to me? Anyways, if you answer my riddle I will give you the information you seek!
There was a part where a teacher was almost killed and the student meets with the teacher after and says something along the lines of "I'm glad you weren't killed. If you were our education would have few prospects." I was like, "What?! How am I supposed to interpret this ? Is this kid a psychopath?"
For real. I mean, it literally starts out with MC drinking with Sam and telling her basically everything that was supposed to be secret from chapter one and she's just like "Wow. Anyway, about the tournament."
Then you discover any of the women MC didn't get with in chapter one are now available, but only because they were all banging Jacob before he kicked the bucket, so their all basically his leftovers 😂
Ashley's character is terribly written as well. I think basically the only improvement was getting rid of the Audrey triangle, since it didn't really make sense how it was.
Oh, I almost forgot that anytime someone is saying important story things, MC is just having internal dialog about their bodies the whole time. It might have been funny if used once, but it's several times and overall boring and detrimental.
Having an issue with 1.6.1d. I can no longer open calendar/character/profile interface. I hear the sound effect but doesn't open. have tried deleting the game files and unpacking again with no luck. If I go back to an older save, it opens fine. The phone and map open fine.
In one interaction with Gabriella the MC tells her he's Jacobs son. She doesn't believe you and gets angry at him and storms off. Next interaction she's angry at the MC because he apparently told her he didn't want to help her anymore.
I think I've got a bug here. According to the Main Quest, I'm supposed to meet Penny at the Cafe in Dale, but she never shows up. There's a tick-mark next to the quest requirement so I feel like I should be able to continue.
I think there's a bug with Samantha's Story, every week on Thursday/Friday her story resets back to 1 i have no idea why. it happened 2 weeks in a row. I even finished her story once and it reset again. (Windows Version)

The android port is even more shit than that. The developers have fucked up the APK ID, so that Season 2 tries to install OVER season 1, and fails.
Oh god the writing. It wasn't fantastic in the first season but it's really gone downhill in the second. So much potential ..

It looks like the Season 2 APK is trying to install over the top of Season 1, but is failing to update.
